The door bounces back sometimes and works fine at other times, where does the fault start?

Intermittent bouncing is usually a sign of a problem with the closing sensor or the coupling arm rather than the operator itself. When the door works normally sometimes, owners assume the fault is minor, but an intermittent fault means the part has not failed completely yet and is on its way to doing so.

What should I prepare before the repair begins?

Tell the residents the elevator will be out of use while the work is done, and make sure access to the elevator shaft is not blocked. It also helps to note and write down which floor the fault happens on most often, because that helps identify which landing door needs the most attention.

What should I check after the repair is done?
